Pedro Almiro focuses on improvisation, including in his work the synergies generated by the interaction of acoustic and electronic devices. He explores the worlds prompted by playfulness, immediacy and unselfconsciousness, where the perception of what is (present) and what was overlap.
He holds a BA in Jazz drums from ESMAE of Oporto, Portugal, and a MA in Improvisation from the HMT Leipzig, Germany. Drawing influence from an array of contexts, such as the 60s Minimalists, Brion Gysin's legendary cut-ups and ancestral rhythmic traditions, he keeps challenging his own practice as both a musician and composer in Berlin.
